Common Name Ligia's Oncidium [Sra Posada Colombian Nurserywoman Colomborquideas current]
Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]
Found in Antioquia, Quindio and Cundinamarca departments of Colombia at elevations around 1600 to 1750 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to elliptical to narrowly ovate, strongly compressed laterally, acute leaves that blooms in the later spring on a paniculate, heteranthous, erect to nodding, short pedunculate, rachis to 20 branched, each branch spreading to 8" [20 cm] long, each branch tip with one fertile flower and the rest of the flowers on the branch are sterile, many sterile flowered, several fertile flowerd inflorescence.
Variable in the length and in being erect, and or very long and nodding. The flowers vary in coloration and patterns.
