Found in Zamora Chinchipe province of Ecuador at elevations around 1500 meters as a small sized [plant only], cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to narrowly vate, laterally compressed pseudobulbs carrying 2, apical, oblong-lanceolate, acute conduplicate intothe base leaves tat blooms on an axillary, hetranthus, twining, peduncle short, paniculate, the lower branches carrying abortive flowers only, the upper brqanches carrying a few to numerous abortive flowers and 1 to 5 normal flowers, 56 to 68" [140 to 170 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence carrying mildly fragrant flowers
