Common Name The Bird Head Oncidium

Flower Size .64 to .8" [1.6 to 2 cm]

Found in Cundinamarca and Cauca departments of Colombia at eleavtions of 1500 to 2200 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a climbing rhizome giving rise to ovate, slightly compressed, ancipitous pseudobulbs partially enveloped below by non-floiaceous, basal sheaths and carrying a single, apical, linear-oblong, shortly conduplicate, acute apically leaf that blooms in the late summer and earlier fall on a slender, pendulous, shortly several branched, few flowered inflorescence carrying normally developed flowers that are intermixed with aborted, star-shaped, infertile flowers.
