Found in Tarija department of Bolivia at elevations around 2200 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial without leaves at blooming which occurs in the late spring on an erect, terminal, peduncle 19.2" [48 cm] long, glandular-pilose towards the apex, provided with 11, acuminate, tightly clasping sheathing bracts, rachis 3.2" [8 cm] long, cylindrical, to 20 flowered inflorescence with erect-patent, lanceolate, acuminate, longer than the lower flowers, upper flowers shorter than the flower floral bracts

"Related to Pelexia bonariensis but P fiebrigii is less vigorous in growth habit and has somewhat shorter hairs on the sepals. The labellum is narrower in the middle, but has a broader, almost kidney-shaped anterior lobe and the auricles at the base are bluntly triangular and stand out more from the labial nail than in P bonariensis. The rostellum is more slender and taller." Schlechter 1920
