Common Name The Bent Back Lip Platanthera - in China Fan Chun She Chun Lan

Flower Size

Found in southcentral Sichuan province of China in alpine grasslands at elevations around 2500 to 2600 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a creeping, cylindric, stoloniferous rootstock giving rise to an erect to ascending stem provided with 2 tubular, basal sheaths carrying 2, cauline, widely spaced, elliptic, narrowly elliptic, narrowly oblong, subobtuse to subacute, contractedand basally clasping leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, peduncle slender, provided with 1 to 2 foliaceous, lanceolate bracts, rachis to 2.4 to 4.8" [6.5 to 12 cm] long, cylindric laxly many flowered inflorescence with narrowly lanceolate, margin ciliate, long acuminate floral bracts and carrying fragrant flowers.
