Found in Fujian, Guandong and Guangmain provinces of China in evergreen, broadleaved forests at elevations around 800 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a round cylindrical tuber giving rise to an erect, gray-green stem without leaves that blooms in the later summer on an erect, 3.2 to 4" [8 to 10 cm] long, sparsely to 13 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts
