Flower Size .8 to 1.2" [2 to 3 cm]
Found in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Prince Edward Islands, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan, W Virginia, Maryland, Tennesee and North Carolina as a large to giant sized, cold growing terrestrial with 2 to 6, cauline, lancolate, keeled, basally clasping leaves that are gradually reduced to bracts above that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a terminal, racemose, 48" [120 cm] long, erect, loosely to densely 30 to 65 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, as long as the ovary floral bracts and carrying lavender scented flowers
