Found in Tibet [Xizang Autonomous province of China] on mossy limestone rock with shallow soil between alpine shrubs as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with a creeping, densely hairy rhizome giving rise to a short stem carrying a single, basal, susessile, ovate4 to long-ovate, somewhat raised veined leaf that blooms in the later summer on an ascending, corymbose, peduncle provided with a single, linear scale, 2.4" [6 cm] long, densely 5 to 8 flowered inflorescence with linear, as long as the flowers floral bracts
