Found in northwestern Yunnan province of China in broad-leaved forests at elevations around 2200 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a narrowly fusiform tuber giving rise to an erect stem carrying a single, [2], nearly basal, sessile, lanceolate-elliptic leaf that blooms in the late summer on an erect, to 6" [15 cm] long, to 12 flowered inflorescence carrrying non-resupinate flowers .
