Common Name The Papuan Platanthera

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in the Bismark Archipelago and Papua New Guinea in humus of forests at elevations around 1200 to 2000 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cold growing terrestrial with a thickened, fleshy, villous rhizome giving rise to a single, basal, erect, acuminate, cuneate below into the narrowly petiolate base leaf and 1 to 2, cauline, distant, erect-patent-ovate, acuminate, cordate-amplexicaul base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect termianal, to 10" [to 25 cm] long, laxly several flowered inflorescence with erect, oblong-lanceolate, shorter tha the ovary floral bracts
