Found in Taiwan in alpine rocky grasslands with mosses at elevations of 3200 to 3300 meters as a miniature sized cold growing terrestrial with a short, cylindrical, fleshy rhizome giving rise to an erect stem carrying 2, towards the base, lanceolate to narrowly lanceolate, acute, attenuate and amplexicaul at the base leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect to ascending, provided woith a basal to middle bract, 3.2 to 3.6" [8 to 9 cm] long inflorescence, rachis 1.6 to 2" [4 to 5 cm] long, green glabrous, 10 to 12 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acute, , as long as the ovary floral bract and carrying yellow turning pale yellow, scentless flowers
The species is characterized by its 1 to 2 leaved stem with 10 to 12 yellow to pale yellow flowers, sepals ovate , yellow to pale yellow with a green tip, obtuse at the apex; petals ovate, pale yellow, obtuse at apex and an entire lip. the only species in the genus in Taiwan with yellow to pale yellow flowers in color."
