Common Name or Meaning The Darien Pleurothallis [ Area of Eastern Panama]

Found in Found in the Darien of Easterrn Panama at elevations of 300 to 500 meters as a small sized, hot growing, caespitose epiphyte with an erect ramicaul enveloped by 3 tubular sheaths and carryinga single, apical, horizontal-spreading, cordate, acuminate leaf that blooms in the winter on a fasciculate, arising through an inconspicuous spathe, peduncle to .12" [3 mm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence.

The cilate sepals vs glabrous, the 3 lobed lip vs ovate triangular to obliquely oblong-quadrate, easily separate this species from P cardiothallis and P rhodoglossa. Moreover the glenion a the lip base of P dariense is transversely ellliptic while in P rhodoglossa it is reniform in outline." Kolan. & Szlach 2014
