Found in Ceará state of Brazil in the Serra de Maranguape at elevations around 900 meters as a small to medium sized, warm growing densely caespitose epiphyte with erect, cylindrical ramicauls concealed by 3 or 4 tubular, acute sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse, minutely tridentate at the apex, margin entire, attenuate below into a conduplicate petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and fall on an erect, arising through an annulus, erect to decumbent, shorter than the ramicaul, peduncle .32 to .8" [0.8 to 2 cm] long, rachis .14 to 6.4" [3.5 to 16 cm] long; congested, racemose, simultaneously 12 to 31 flowered inflorescence with amplexicaul, membranaceous, margin entire, apex acute to obtuse floral bracts.
