Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in Cocle' province of Panama in cloud forests at elevations around 600 to 1000 meters as a small to medium sized, warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with purple, stout, suberect tp horizontal ramicauls with a close tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base carrying a single, horizontal to pendent with weight, suffused with purple, coriaceous, narrowly linear-ovate, acute, sessile, shallowly cordate base leaf that blooms in the fall on a short peduncle hidden within the spathe .2 to .24" [5 to 6 mm] long, successively single flowered inflorescence with a thin, tubular, shorter than the pedicel floral bract and carrying a flower with light yellow sepals, light green petals, and a red purple lip.

”This species is known from a single collection in central Panama by Dressler. Although it has much in common with a narrow leaved variation of P bivalvis syn [P angusta], P telamon has a strong habit with a narrowly linear, more or less pendent leaf suffused with purple and is distinctive. The flower is similar to P bivalvis in the basic morphology but the proportionally longer petals are narrowly oblong and denticulate and the lip is large and elliptical-oblong.” Luer 2005
