Found in Tasmania in tussock grasslands at elevations of 660 to 670 meters as a small to just large sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, stem clasping leaf that blooms in the later spring on an erect, 12.2 to 22" [31 to 55 cm] long, 6 to 25 flowered inflorescence and carrying non-resupinate, lightly scented flowers
