Found in New Zealand in open areas in Baumea / Schoenus swamps and often growing partially submerged in open water as a medium to giant sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single leaf that is longer than the inflorescence that blooms in the late spring and summer on an erect, 5 to 25 flowered inflorecence and carrying fragrant flowers.
