Found in Corrientes province of Argentina in dense woodlands on rather low ground with sandy soil as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a rosette of basal, obovate to oblanceolate, obtuse, glabrous,cuneate into the subpetiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, peduncle to 2 to 10" [5 to 20 cm] long, provided with several lax sheathing bracts, rachis 1.6 to 3.2" [4 to 8 cm] long, laxly few flowered inflorescence with foliaceous, ovate-lanceolate, subacuminate, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying conspicuous, pale yellowish flowers.
