Found in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania Australia at elevations of 50 to 400 meters in woodland forests with fern and scrubby understorey in humus and leaf litter as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with globose tubers giving rise to an erect stem enveloped basally by 2 leafless, acuminate sheaths and carrying a few, narrowly lanceolate, acute, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, 2" [5 cm] long, few to several flowered inflorescence.
