Found in New South Wales Australia in tall forests as a cold growing terrestrial with a rosette of 4 to 9, dark green, ovoid leaves which lie flat to the ground and are not present at flowering that blooms on an erect, wiry, provided with 1 to 2, rosette stalks of leaves close to the base, 3.2 to 12" [8 to 30 cm] long, to 6 flowered inflorescence
