Found in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, Australia at elevations of 250 to 900 meters in the Rushworth area in open mallee scrublands and adjacent open forests dominated by Grey Box, as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with ovoid tubers giving rise to an erect, brown stem enveloped basally by a rosette of elliptic, acute, brown, basally clasping leaves and also has 6, acute triangular sheaths and blooms in the spring on a 18" [45 cm] long, 1 to 5 successively flowered inflorescence.
