Found in Cape Province, Lesotho and Natal South Africa in montane grasslands at the forest edge at elevations of 1500 to 2800 meters as a slender, small sized, cold growing terrestrial with 2, basal, large, ovate-oblong leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, lax to dense, 5 to many flowered inflorescence
