Found in Pernambuco state of Brazil at elevations around 650 meters as a medium sized, warm growing epiphyte that is a natural hybrid between the 2 species C labaiata and Schomburgkia moyobambae [or gloriosa] with very large, fusiform pseudobulbs carrying 1 to 2 apical, thick, coriaceous, obtuse apicaly leaveds that blooms in the fall on an erect, 12.8" [32 cm] long, 9 flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers
