Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil in the transition zone betweeen the Atlantic rainforest and the Brazilian Savanna at elevations around 1000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool, humus growing epiphyte with green, clustered, oval, apically elongate, sulcate pseudobulbs enveloped by evanescent sheaths and carrying a single, apical, plicate, dark green, subcoriaceous, elliptic-lanceolate, attenuate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later spring on a basal, pendent, short, provided with papery sheaths, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence carrying very fragrant flowers.
