Common Name The White Stelis

Found in Venezuela and Colombia in mntane forests at elevations around 1800 to 2000 meters as a small sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect, stout ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3, tubular sheaths amd carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic-oblong, subobtuse, narrowing below into the attenuate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, arisingthrough a small, compressed spathe, longer than the leaf, to 2.8" [to 21 cm] long including the peduncle 4" [10 cm] long, distichous, mostly simultaneously, many flowered inflorescence with cucullate, obtuse to acuminate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying yellowish-green flowers.
