Found in Cundinamarca department of Colombia in cloud forests around Chingaza at elevations around 3400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with an abbreviated stem carrying a few leaves that blooms in the fall on an axillary, longer than the leaf, peduncle flattened, provided with 2 bracts of differing sizes, to 2.5" [6.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
