Found in central Peru in cold cloud forests at elevations of 3200 to 3700 meters as a medium sized [including the inflorescence], cold growing epiphyte with an erect or procumbent, with branches from the middle to the upper nodes, leafy, terete stem carrying a few distichous, subcoriaceous ovate to sublanceolate, entire margin, minute and irregularly papillose, apex subacute with minute mammillary papillae, conduplicate and amplexicaul below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on 1 to 2, erect or procumbent, peduncle terete, racemose, 2 to 7.4" [5 to 18.5 cm] long, successively few flowered inflorescence with an ovate-deltate, amplexicaul, basal bigger than apical floral bracts
