Common Name or Meaning The Large Fruit Thrixspermum

Flower Size .88" [2.2 cm]

Found in penninsular Malaysia and Sabah Borneo in hill primary and lower montane forests at elevations of 800 to 1600 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a pendulous, slightly compressed, apical half leafy stem enveloped by persistent sharp keeled on one side sheaths and carrying strap-shaped, basally partly enveloping the stem, green, moderately stiff, keeled beneath, equally to unequally bilobed apically, lobes rounded leaves that blooms in the fall, winter and spring on lateral, from amongst the leaves, peduncle .52 to 1.4" 1.3 to 3.5 cm] long, provided with 1 to 2 enveloping bracts at the base and another midway, broadening towards the rachis, .24 to 2.4" [6 to 60 mm] long, often 2 superposed per node but only 1 active at a time, [1.8 to 10 cm] long, successively 1 to 2, to 35 flowered inflorescence carrying mildly scented, ephemeral flowers that last one day.
