Deep Shade Cool LATER Spring

Common Name or Meaning The Scented Tipularia - In China Tai Wan tong ju lan

Flower Size

Found in northern and central Taiwan in mossy areas of forests at elelvations of 1500 to 2690 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with ovoid to broadlycylindric, 2 to 4 noded pseudobulbs carrying a single, abaxially purple, adaxially green and sometimes tinged purple, ovate to ovate-elliptic, margin denticulate and slightly crisped, acuminate, narrowing below into the purplish, channeled petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later spring on a terminal, purplish-brown, peduncle 3.2 to 6" [8 to 15 cm] long, provided with 2 to 3, short, tubular bracts, rachis 1 to 3.2" [2.5 to 8 cm] long, laxly 10 to more flowered inflorescence with minute, deltoid, shorter than the vary floral bracts.
