Common Name The Dark Bearded Vanilla

Flower Size 1.8" [4.5 cm]

Found in southern Vietnam at elevations around 250 meters as a giant sized, hot growing lithophyte or epiphyte with a creeping or climbing, branching vine with a fleshy, stem carrying narrowly ovate-ellipitc, acuminate, carnose, with incurved margins, shortly petiolate base leaves with the terminal leaf at the base of the inflorescence much smaller that blooms in the winter on a terminal, subsessile, 4 to 6" [10 to 15 cm] long, rachis slightly flexuous, successively single, 10 to 23 flowered inflorescence with oblong, acute, slightly cucullate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying spirally arranged, foul smelling flowers
