Found in southern Colombia with suborbicular, circiular in cross-section pseudobulbs carrying 2, thick, stout, sulcate, plicate, subcoriaceous, oblong-elliptic, 3 main nerved, acute to acuminate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, apically pendent in development, rather stout, enveloped by tighly adpressed, herbaceous sheaths, to 18" [45 cm] long overall, rachis [17 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence.
