Common Name The Thin Zeuxine [refers to the column]

Flower Size .12" [3 mm]

Found on Christmas Island Australia at elevations of 100 to 300 meters as a small sized, hot growing terrestrial with an erect stem carrying 4 to 8, lanceolate, acute, shiny green, fading after flowering leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal to 10" [25 cm] long, densely pubescent, several to many flowered inflorescence.

"This species is closely related to Zeuxine gracilis, which occurs nearby on Java. It has been included in the synonymy of the latter (Barretto et al., 2011) but differs in having a fleshier labellum mesochile, and narrower profile of the column with the stigma lobes set slightly further back.
