Found in penninsular Malaysia, Java and Borneo in lower montane forests at elevations of 750 to 2000 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cold growing trunk epiphyte and ocasional terrestrial with globose, ribbed, angled, pseudobulbs to 1/2" [1.2cm apart] enveloped basally by an evanescent sheath and carrying 2 apical, conduplicate basally leaves that blooms in the spring on a very short, basal, single flowered inflorescence holding the flower under the leaf
