Common Name The Hornless Bulbophyllum [Latin for lacking horns, refering to the abscence of protusions on the column as compared to Bulbophyllum cornutum which has them]

Flower Size .8" to 1.2" [2 to 3 cm]

Found in Thailand, Sumatra, Borneo, Bali and Java in podosol forests or shrubby forests as a miniature to small sized, hot to warm growing unifoliate epiphyte in shrubby forests on limestone hills occuring at elevations of 400 to 1300 meters with a woody rhizome with 1.6" [4 cm] between each, ovoid, pale green pseudobulbs subtended by a scarious sheath and carrying a single apical thin, linear-lanceolate leaf that is conduplicate below and where it blooms on a 1 1/8" to 2 7/8" [3 to 7 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence occuring in the fall with fragrant flowers that smell of grapes. Best grown cool to warm and given partial shade and high humidity, with regular water and fertilizer.
