Common Name The Kuan Wu Bulbophyllum - In China Tai Nan Juan Ban Lan

Found in southern Taiwan in chamaecyparis forests on mountain ridges at elevations around 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome that has to .4 to .8" [1 to 2 cm] between each globose to ovoid pseudobulb carrying a single, more or less elliptic to obovate, rounded to slightly retuse apically, gradually narrowing below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, erect, .8 to 1.2" [2 to 3cm] long, 3 to 7 flowered, umbellate inflorescence with 2 scale-like sheaths.

This species and B albociliatum are very similar but this one has much longer and denser hairs on the dorsal sepal and petals.
