Found in the Chinese Himalayas, eastern Himalayas, Assam, Myanamar, Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra and Vietnam on tree trunks in dense forests at elevations around 300 to 1600 meters as a miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with close set, subovoid, small pseudobulbs carrying a single apical, erect, coriaceous, obovate-lanceolate, obtuse, narrowing towards the base leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, short, globose, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-triangular floral bracts and carrying flowers that smell of fungus.
