TYPE Bulbophyllum (“Bolbophyllum”) repens Wall

Characterized by a typically short column foot and the attachment of the lip is often deeply imbedded in the surface formed by the base of the lateal sepals, the dense racemoise with flowers in a regular pattern or lax with flowers having the lateral sepals adpressed to the rachis and having purple coloring. The lateral sepals form a dish to bowl-shaped structure around the lip. The best defining diagnostic sign is the upper margin stellida usually with a slight to distrinct wing or tooth, 4 pollina. Remember that stelida have a vein that runs into it wings do not.
