Common Name The Butterfly Encyclia

Flower Size

Found from Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua at elevations of 30 to 1000 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte that blooms in the spring and summer on an arching, paniculate inflorescence.

CAUTION!!!! Many references put this species as a synonym of E adenocarpa and it may well be but I await better references. They do appear to be very close.

Synonyms *Epidendrum papillosum Bateman 1838
