Found in Zaire in dambo as a medium sized terrestrial with an erect, very delicate, glabrous stem carrying 3 to 5, larger, usually 2 sometimes 3, well spaced, usually slender, linear, acute, loosely adpressed to the stem, the upper 2 bract-like leaves that blooms on an erect, to 5.6" [14 cm] long, distinctly spirally arranged, laxly several flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acute, glabrous, less than 1/3rd as long as the pedicellate ovary floral bracts.

Related to both H chlorina and H filicornis but differs from both in the details of the gynostemium." Szlach etal 2010
