Common Name The Split Nine Fold Habenaria

Found in southern Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica in pine oak forests on steep slopes at elevations of 1200 to 1400 meters as a medium sized, warm growing terrestrial with a leafy, angled stem enveloped completely by leaf bearing sheaths and carrying patent, lanceolate, acute, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the later summer on an erect, terminal, racemose, few to many flowered inflorescence with green, lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.
