Found in Costa Rica in premontane rain forest to cloud forest and disturbed primary forests at elevations around 1850 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by to 15 lepanthiform ciliate sheaths and carrying a single apical, erect, ovate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the rounded base leaf that blooms in the spring on a congested, racemose, 2" [5 cm] long, successively single flowered inflorescence arising on the back side of the leaf and has oblique, lightly muricate floral bracts
