Found in southern Mexico and Costa Rica in rainforests and lower montane forests at elevation of 300 to 900 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with very short, terete stems with an annulus enveloped by loose, scarious sheaths and carrying a single, apical, arcuate, narrowly linear-oblanceolate, obtuse, notched, veryu fleshy, basally long attenuate into a canaliculate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a fascile of single flowers with funnel-shaped, truncate, apiculate, membraneous-papery floral bracts
