Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia in montane forests at elevations of 1100 to 3300 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 3 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, cordate, apically tridentate leaf that blooms on a single flowered, short inflorescence holding the flower against the leaf base and occuring in the fall.
