Found in Parana' State of southern Brasil in montane forests near marshy ground at elevations around 350 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 tubular, loose sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical to oblanceolate, obtuse, gradually attenuate into the petilate base leaf that blooms in the winter on a shoreer than the leaf, 1.6 to 2" [4 to 5 cm] long, racmose, distichous, densely many flowered, apically arched inflorescence arising through a spathe with cup-shaped, imbricate floral bracts.

CAUTION Many references put this species as a synonym of S ciliaris, but if I have this determoation correct then that is not possible
