Common Name The Elliptic Altensteinia

Flower Size small

Found in Apurimac department of Peru at elevations around 3850 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with 4 to 5, basally clustered, oblong-ellitic, more or less acute, narrowing below into the broad sheathing base leaves that blooms on an erect, 6.4" [to 16 cm] long overall, rachis to 4.2" [10.5 cm] long, enveloped completely by several, loose, imbricating sheaths, thickly cylinric, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute to acuminate, sparingly ciliate, shorter than the flower floral bracts.

"Similar to Altensteinia longispicata but differs in the small, relatively dwarfststure, short, oblong-ellipotiuc leaves and glabrous petals.
