Common Name The Samoan Habenaria
Flower Size
Found in Samoa in lowlands and cloud forests at elevations of 200 to 1550 meters as a medium sized, hot to cool growing terreestrial with an erect stem carrying elliptic-lanceolate to obovate, acuminate leaves at the center of the stem that blooms on a terminal, erect, 10 to 13.2" [25 to 33 cm] long, laxly to subdensly many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, eqaul to to a bit longer than the flower floral bracts and carrying green flowers.
Similar to H superflua but much smaller in all its floral parts and with shorter and broader leaves. Kraenzlin & Mueller compared this species to H digitata but differs in the spur which is raised above the flower and curved back almost into a semicircle.
