Common Name The Beak-Like Seed Pod Myrosmodes

Found in Magdalena, Cundinamarca, Cauca, Colombia and Ecuador in paramo at elevations of 2900 to 4400 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with lanceolate, fleshy, shortly petiolate base leaves that blooms in the summer and fall without leaves on a terminal, erect, to 1.6" [10 cm] long, completely enveloped by funnel-shaped, imbricating sheathing bracts, conical, densely many flowered inflorescence carrying small, whitish flowers
"This species is undoubtedly related to Myrosmodes breve , Myrosmodes cochleare and Myrosmodes rostrata but M rhynchocarpa differs in the entire petal margins." Szlachetko & Kolanowska 2019
