Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial orchid without leaves at blooming which occurs on a terminal, erect, 10.8 to 11.2" [27 to 28 cm] long, generally thin, provided with 6 to 7 widely amplexicaul, slightly imbricate, acute, laxly glandulous-pilose towards the apex sheaths cylindrical, many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, long-acuminate, longer than the flowers floral bracts.
Very similar to Pelexia ventricosa but differs in the flowers being 1/3 the size. The flowers are arranged in a thick and cylindrical spike and otherwise are the same as P ventricosa.
