Characterized by the succesively flowered, congested inflorescence arisingg from the apex of the filiform peduncle, The lateralsepals are semiconnate to connate and the petals are often dilated along the lower margin. The fleshy to thick lip is often verrucose with more or less erect lateral margins or lobes below the middle that are often continuous with calli from the disc, similar to Subgenus Acianthera.
