Found in Costa Rica and Panama at elevations of 1300 to 2500 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by a long, tubular sheath below the middle and 2 to 3, shorter basal sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, deflexed, broadly cordate-ovate, more or less concave, acute, deeply cordate and sessile below with overlapping lobes leaf that blooms in the later spring through early fall on a fascile of short to .1 to .15" [2 to 3 mm] long, successive single flowered inflorescence arising from the base of the leaf, through a suberect, conduplicate spathe with the peduncle confined within and has thin floral bracts.
