SECTION Ephippium Schlechter 1913

TYPE: = Bulbophyllum masdevalliaceum Kraenzl.

Characterized by a creeping rhizome usually with well separated pseduobulbs that may be reduced greatly in some cases. The single flowered peduncles are slender and carry medium sized flowers, The lateral sepals are large and are often elongated in front and are occasionally connate at the apex. The petals are extremely various. The elongate lip is often rostrate in shape. The column has subulate stelida and a narrow foot.
